Important: discovering or previewing a track in CrateSeek does not grant permission to sample, remix, distribute or commercially exploit that recording or composition.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, accessing or using CrateSeek, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. In the European Economic Area you must be at least 16 to use CrateSeek, or have permission from a parent or guardian; elsewhere you must be at least 13. Users under 18 should have a parent or guardian review these Terms, especially before buying a subscription.
2. What CrateSeek provides
CrateSeek helps music producers discover recordings and open playable previews supplied by third parties. Features may include randomized discovery, filters, playback controls, saved tracks, history and feature requests. The catalog is curated and automated but may contain incomplete, incorrect or unavailable information.
3. Samples, clearances and music rights
CrateSeek is a discovery tool, not a music licensing or sample-clearance service. Recordings, compositions, artwork, names and other material remain owned by their respective rightsholders. You are solely responsible for determining what rights are required and obtaining every necessary permission, licence or clearance before copying, sampling, remixing, publishing, performing, distributing or monetising material you discover.
Do not rely on catalog availability, playback availability, track age, obscurity or information shown in CrateSeek as evidence that material is public domain, royalty-free or cleared for use. When needed, obtain advice from a qualified music-rights professional.
4. Acceptable use
You may use CrateSeek for lawful personal or professional discovery. You may not misuse the service, bypass access controls or rate limits, scrape or overload infrastructure, introduce malicious code, interfere with other users, falsely report catalog content, or use CrateSeek to infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other rights.
5. Third-party services
Playback, metadata, infrastructure and analytics may involve YouTube, Supabase, PostHog, Discogs, MusicBrainz, Apple or other providers. Your use of their content and systems may also be subject to their terms. CrateSeek does not control third-party availability, policies or content and is not responsible for changes they make.
You must not use CrateSeek to download YouTube audio or video, remove technical restrictions or use YouTube content outside the playback methods they permit.
6. CrateSeek ownership and feedback
CrateSeek’s software, design, branding and original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the app as provided. If you submit feedback or a feature idea, you allow CrateSeek to use it without restriction or payment, while you retain ownership of any rights you already hold in the submission.
7. CrateSeek Pro subscriptions
Who sells it. CrateSeek Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple’s App Store (or Google Play). The store takes payment, and its own terms apply to the purchase alongside these Terms. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period and is charged to your store account, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. A free trial turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time under Profile → Manage subscription in the app, or in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting your CrateSeek account or removing the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds and withdrawal. Refunds, and any statutory right of withdrawal, are handled by Apple (or Google) under its policies; you can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you restore purchases on another device signed in to the same store account, your subscription applies there too.
Beta access. Pro features included with Beta access are free and end when the Beta period ends. You are never charged for Beta access; you only pay if you choose to subscribe.
Changes. If we change the price of CrateSeek Pro, the store tells you in advance and, where the law or the store requires it, asks for your agreement before you are charged the new price.
8. Availability and changes
The MVP is provided on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, remove catalog entries, correct metadata, impose reasonable limits or release updates. We do not promise that every track will remain playable or that discovery results will meet a particular creative or commercial goal.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrateSeek is provided without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or uninterrupted availability. CrateSeek does not provide legal advice or guarantee that any use of discovered material is lawful.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, rights claims or production costs arising from use of CrateSeek. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using CrateSeek at any time. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, providers or rightsholders, or when these Terms are materially violated. Provisions concerning rights, disclaimers, liability and disputes survive termination where applicable.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as CrateSeek evolves. The effective date will change and material updates will be communicated through the app or website where appropriate. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
